Jimmy Choo Glitter Degrade Pumps

I can’t be the only woman who likes shiny, sparkly things, right? I’m seriously obsessed. And it’s not a mental thing; when I see a pair of gorgeous, sparkly, glittering shoes, my heart just sings and I feel I can’t possibly turn away. It’s a disease, I tell you. But tell me you can look at these and not feel a thing.

Oh my God, I fell in love with these instantly when I saw them randomly on Pinterest and promptly hunted them down. The Jimmy Choo Anouks. Not only is it uber sparkly, it has an awesome degrade/ombre effect from gold to black, on top of a super sexy gold thin heel.

They look like there’s a watery, glistening sheen over the shoes. I could look at them all day long. When I was hunting them down, I thought to myself, I have to own these no matter the price. Even if they’re over a thousand, I’ll make it happen. To find it was a totally reasonable price for a pair of designer heels, I was basically ready to pull the trigger then and there. Then I calmed down and read the product description; that’s when I got slapped back into reality. Um, 120mm heel height? Crap.

How come the models make them look so normal? I’ve never even tried on a pair of 120mm shoes, but from the pictures I’m guessing I’d topple over. Probably not likely to walk in them more than a few steps, despite what people say about it taking practice. I’m already too lazy, paying for Jimmy Choos that I can’t easily wear everywhere doesn’t make sense at all. I loved them so much though I thought, maybe it’s worth it just to own these and I’ll treat them like an art piece…but that little voice in my head told me that’s just stupid (PS if you can make these work, get them here). Then I found these:

WTF? I’m a total noob to Jimmy Choo, so is it normal for the same type of shoe to be repeated across different shoe styles with different heel heights? Kind of weird. These are the Jimmy Choo Agnes pumps, which clock in at only 85mm, which is totally walkable. Exact same gold to black glitter degrade style. Hallelujah? Eh. Something about these just didn’t speak to me the same way as the Anouks. The heel height to shoe length proportion seems much less sexy to me vs the Anouks, but then again these are much more practical. I can get the look I love in a shoe that I can actually wear out. I just didn’t love it and debated back and forth for a long time. Then by sheer luck, I ran into these:

Jimmy Choo Abel Glitter Degrade Pumps

Another heel height?? Why, Jimmy Choo? Why? I’m really baffled as to why any designer would do this. I get it for classic styles, like the Louboutin Simple Pumps, but why these degrade glitter ones specifically? Anyway, I found out these were in the Abel style, clocking in at 100mm. This could be my perfect goldilocks heel height! I started reading reviews and pleasantly discovered people raved about the comfort of the Abels, despite the 4″ heel. Was it fate? Possibly. Only Farfetch carried these, and only a few little European boutiques had these. I finally pulled the trigger and can’t wait for these to ship to me from Italy. Hooray! If you’re considering these, I read most people went true to your US size, though some with wider feet sized up half a size.

If you’re loving these, see if they have your size here from Farfetch. Bonus: these are priced much cheaper when shipping from Europe, and all import duties are included in the price!

J.Crew Collection Leopard Calf Hair Beauties

Given my total addiction to shoes, it’s actually kind of surprising that I don’t own any leopard shoes. Since they’re practically a neutral print now, just sexier than your standard black or white, it’s a good choice to stock up on for Fall. Leopard is quite tricky to get right though. If the color is off or the print isn’t great (*cough* Banana Republic Ivonne Leopard Pump, sorry), then it just looks like a cheap pair of shoes. Luckily, J.Crew gets it of course, and I’m having trouble choosing between two great styles in this beautiful leopard hair calf material.

I love that the front toe box of these are similar to that of smoking slippers, but it’s pointy toe so it’s flattering and chic. Plus they’re flat so should be comfortable. Downside is I read that though J.Crew’s flats tend to be true to size, they’re not exactly wear-all-day flats unless you break them in. Once they stretch a bit with wear, they’re much more comfortable. Not sure I’m ready to commit to a break-in period for any shoe; I’ve gotten a little too old and impatient for that kind of thing. One thing I know for sure, they’re definitely more comfortable than heels. Get yours here from J.Crew.

Just around the time I *almost* decided on the leopard flats above, I saw a picture of these leopard pumps on J.Crew’s site. No doubt about it, any heel makes these leopard shoes instantly that much sexier. I thought to myself, that heel doesn’t look that high, maybe it’s do-able and comfortable enough for a normal workday at least. Then I read it’s 3.5″. For many of you, that may be perfectly do-able but that heel height for me equals about maybe 1-2 hours of walking. Such is my dilemma! Which would you get? If you love these pumps, get them here from J.Crew.

Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps

Is it bad that the list of shoes I want is pretty much endless? And that every day I add on at least one new pair? Well, if you’re reading this, I’m sure you know all too well how I feel. Today’s obsession is the Manolo Blahnik BB Pump. I must be the last woman on Earth to hear about these gems, which is surprising because my mantra is all about being polished and put-together with the least amount of effort so comfy high heels would be high on that list of necessities. If you haven’t heard of these either, say hi to 4 inch heels that are gorgeously sexy yet uber comfortable.

Manolo Blahnik BB Pump - Royal Blue

Manolo Blahnik has released these pumps in almost every heel height, color, and leather possible. I have to say, the suede versions are really calling out my name. The colors available in suede are so rich and saturated; it’s hard to resist these beautiful jewel tones, especially in such a beautiful silhouette. Royal blue has got to be my favorite. A close second is Burgundy.

The rave review I keep hearing is that despite these BB’s being high enough to be sexy (4 inches = no joke), they’re not too tall that you can’t wear them comfortably throughout a normal day. After trying these on, I’d say if your feet are at all wide, size up half a size. Mine are normal to wide and I felt most comfortable in half size up. Comparing these to Louboutin Pigalles…there is no comparison. I could hardly walk in the Pigalles. They pinch like crazy and killed the balls of my feet. These feel like I can go at least a few hours in them, at least through a normal work day. If you’d like to try these also, you can get them here from Saks for $595.
