My two favorite colors are camel/cognac and burgundy/wine, which happen to be the perfect two Fall colors. Is it any wonder I can’t wait for this season to start? I’m particularly loving burgundy bags for this Fall; they’d add a really nice, elegant pop of color to my black Banana Republic Trench or my J.Crew Wool Cashmere Trench in Camel. Coach Borough Bag in Oxblood

I’ve always known Coach to make those really cheesy, tacky beige logo canvas bags (sorry to anyone who actually likes those), so I haven’t really paid much attention to their releases. On a recent trip to Hong Kong, I noticed every Coach store stocked mostly these Borough bags, and anyone who carried Coach carried a Borough bag. The Borough is perhaps Coach’s best work in years; it’s very un-Coach, in that the bag doesn’t have any busy logos, or any busy-ness at all. It has extremely clean, simple lines with just the tiniest pop of gold in the middle via the logo. In Oxblood, it’s the perfect elegant work bag or day bag to accompany any outfit. Banana Republic has been trying to compete with J.Crew recently in terms of coming out with cute, covet-worthy bags. Though they mostly haven’t been very successful, I am a bit enamored with this burgundy Lillian crossbody. I love that it has a lot of texture with the pebbled burgundy leather flap on top of the burgundy suede, in addition to the very subtle hardware in the middle. Triple 7 Take a Sweet Bag

Ok, let’s get it out there right now — this is not made out of leather, it’s PU. Yes, I’d usually be the one turning her nose away from any bag that’s not made from leather, but bear with me here. What happens in the Fall/Winter? It rains. And snows. A lot. I always end up super hesitant to bring out one of my gorgeous, amazing leather bags out during this season, so it only makes practical sense to have an adorable, PU bag that not only keeps you stylish but is also not afraid of a little precipitation. Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium in Burgundy

The PS1 has been out such a long time that I’ve really not been able to keep up with the new colors released, and frankly I’ve forgotten how gorgeous this bag is. I love that it’s kind of a preppy looking schoolbag-type bag, very youthful and chic. Perfect as a work bag or a laptop bag. It’s that time of the year again — my favorite season: boot season! For some reason, I love the combo of skirts + boots. It’s a great way to keep wearing skirts from summer to fall, and it allows me to keep buying skirts, just in hearty fabrics like tweed and herringbone. You can also change up the vibe of any outfit just by playing with boot height, heel height, and skirt length. Though something about skirts + boots just oozes va-va-voomness, it’s important to keep comfortable, so here are my top 5 picks for cute, flat knee-high boots for this season.

Frye Dorado Buckled Leather Riding Boot in Redwood

Of course, no top boot list of any kind can be complete without Fryes, and specifically Frye Dorados. These are classics in the leather boot world, and I love that they keep coming out with better leather and colors each season. In Redwood, specifically, these have a beautiful texture and character that I haven’t really seen on other boots. Add on the buckle detailing and small stacked heel, and these just feel super luxe. Tory Burch Teresa Logo Riding Boots

Again, it’s all in the details with these Tory Burch Teresa boots. Love that the leather is smooth but if you look closely, it’s textured and looks quite unprocessed. The buckle/straps and the small gold logo at the top add visual interest and a pop of glam to an otherwise classic pair of riding boots. Steve Madden Intyce Riding Boots

Of course I’m sure most of you have already tried on these Steve Madden Intyce boots, if not already own them. They’re as popular as they are this many years after release for a reason — they have the textured, thick, chewy leather every girl wants, they have the match-everything delicious cognac color, they have just the right amount of hardware for a pop of luxe, they’re relatively comfortable with just a slight heel, and the price is quite low relative to all the other boots that can fulfill all those conditions. They’re also very adjustable at the top, so they’ll fit girls with bigger calves without looking weird. I’ve had mine for a couple of years now, and though they’re not the most comfortable boots after hours of wear, they are definitely my go-to boots. Get yours here from Amazon starting at $84.

Nine West Counter Boots

And last but not least, for anyone who just wants a classic, smooth leather riding boot that will look great with anything and everything and age well with time, look no further than the Nine West Counter boots. They have a normal version and a wide calf version, but the wide calf version has a circumference of 14″, same as all the other normal riding boots, so I wouldn’t be deterred by that. When I think of the epitome of a classic, no-frills, relaxed, casual leather boot, I think of the Madewell Archive Boots. Kate Spade Licorice Floral-Print Leather Pump

Something about these rose pumps just speaks to me. I think it’s the sexy cut of the pump, and the bold striking colors of the blossoming roses in the print. Make no mistake, these are statement shoes and should probably be paired with relatively neutral outfits so that they really sing in the spotlight. Too many other floral shoes have the cheesiest prints — some are too splotchy with the colors, some of the colors don’t really pair well together, and some just don’t match well with the shape of the shoe. These are really perfect in almost every way, only wrinkle being I may just like these more if they were hand-painted and each pair was unique also. But that’s asking way too much. Christian Louboutin Pifalle Follies Floral Satin Pump

Like the Stuart Weitzman Nouveau pumps, these Louboutin Floral pumps are more abstract and more like a work of art than a blatantly obvious floral pump with flowers all over it. And that’s why I love it. It looks like an abstract painting on your feet, full of purple and pink hues that ooze femininity. In this uber sexy cut and high heel, they are the epitome of class. The red sole complement doesn’t hurt either. Only snag is I’d prefer these in leather so they’re not literally fragile pieces of art on my feet that I have to be careful with.
