Jimmy Choo Glitter Degrade Pumps

I can’t be the only woman who likes shiny, sparkly things, right? I’m seriously obsessed. And it’s not a mental thing; when I see a pair of gorgeous, sparkly, glittering shoes, my heart just sings and I feel I can’t possibly turn away. It’s a disease, I tell you. But tell me you can look at these and not feel a thing.

Jimmy Choo Anouk Glitter Degrade Pumps

Jimmy Choo Anouk Glitter Degrade Pumps

Oh my God, I fell in love with these instantly when I saw them randomly on Pinterest and promptly hunted them down. The Jimmy Choo Anouks. Not only is it uber sparkly, it has an awesome degrade/ombre effect from gold to black, on top of a super sexy gold thin heel.

They look like there’s a watery, glistening sheen over the shoes. I could look at them all day long. When I was hunting them down, I thought to myself, I have to own these no matter the price. Even if they’re over a thousand, I’ll make it happen. To find it was a totally reasonable price for a pair of designer heels, I was basically ready to pull the trigger then and there. Then I calmed down and read the product description; that’s when I got slapped back into reality. Um, 120mm heel height? Crap.

How come the models make them look so normal? I’ve never even tried on a pair of 120mm shoes, but from the pictures I’m guessing I’d topple over. Probably not likely to walk in them more than a few steps, despite what people say about it taking practice. I’m already too lazy, paying for Jimmy Choos that I can’t easily wear everywhere doesn’t make sense at all. I loved them so much though I thought, maybe it’s worth it just to own these and I’ll treat them like an art piece…but that little voice in my head told me that’s just stupid (PS if you can make these work, get them here). Then I found these:

Jimmy Choo Agnes Glitter Degrade Pumps

WTF? I’m a total noob to Jimmy Choo, so is it normal for the same type of shoe to be repeated across different shoe styles with different heel heights? Kind of weird. These are the Jimmy Choo Agnes pumps, which clock in at only 85mm, which is totally walkable. Exact same gold to black glitter degrade style. Hallelujah? Eh. Something about these just didn’t speak to me the same way as the Anouks. The heel height to shoe length proportion seems much less sexy to me vs the Anouks, but then again these are much more practical. I can get the look I love in a shoe that I can actually wear out. I just didn’t love it and debated back and forth for a long time. Then by sheer luck, I ran into these:

Jimmy Choo Abel Glitter Degrade Pumps

Jimmy Choo Abel Glitter Degrade Pumps

Another heel height?? Why, Jimmy Choo? Why? I’m really baffled as to why any designer would do this. I get it for classic styles, like the Louboutin Simple Pumps, but why these degrade glitter ones specifically? Anyway, I found out these were in the Abel style, clocking in at 100mm. This could be my perfect goldilocks heel height! I started reading reviews and pleasantly discovered people raved about the comfort of the Abels, despite the 4″ heel. Was it fate? Possibly. Only Farfetch carried these, and only a few little European boutiques had these. I finally pulled the trigger and can’t wait for these to ship to me from Italy. Hooray! If you’re considering these, I read most people went true to your US size, though some with wider feet sized up half a size.

If you’re loving these, see if they have your size here from Farfetch. Bonus: these are priced much cheaper when shipping from Europe, and all import duties are included in the price!

Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps

Is it bad that the list of shoes I want is pretty much endless? And that every day I add on at least one new pair? Well, if you’re reading this, I’m sure you know all too well how I feel. Today’s obsession is the Manolo Blahnik BB Pump. I must be the last woman on Earth to hear about these gems, which is surprising because my mantra is all about being polished and put-together with the least amount of effort so comfy high heels would be high on that list of necessities. If you haven’t heard of these either, say hi to 4 inch heels that are gorgeously sexy yet uber comfortable.

Manolo Blahnik BB Pump - Royal Blue

Manolo Blahnik has released these pumps in almost every heel height, color, and leather possible. I have to say, the suede versions are really calling out my name. The colors available in suede are so rich and saturated; it’s hard to resist these beautiful jewel tones, especially in such a beautiful silhouette. Royal blue has got to be my favorite. A close second is Burgundy.

The rave review I keep hearing is that despite these BB’s being high enough to be sexy (4 inches = no joke), they’re not too tall that you can’t wear them comfortably throughout a normal day. After trying these on, I’d say if your feet are at all wide, size up half a size. Mine are normal to wide and I felt most comfortable in half size up. Comparing these to Louboutin Pigalles…there is no comparison. I could hardly walk in the Pigalles. They pinch like crazy and killed the balls of my feet. These feel like I can go at least a few hours in them, at least through a normal work day. If you’d like to try these also, you can get them here from Saks for $595.

Loving on Burgundy/Oxblood/Wine for Fall

My two favorite colors are camel/cognac and burgundy/wine, which happen to be the perfect two Fall colors. Is it any wonder I can’t wait for this season to start? I’m particularly loving burgundy bags for this Fall; they’d add a really nice, elegant pop of color to my black Banana Republic Trench or my J.Crew Wool Cashmere Trench in Camel. Here are some of my top picks for wine/oxblood/burgundy bags this season:

Coach Borough Bag in Oxblood

Coach Borough Bag in Oxblood

I’ve always known Coach to make those really cheesy, tacky beige logo canvas bags (sorry to anyone who actually likes those), so I haven’t really paid much attention to their releases. On a recent trip to Hong Kong, I noticed every Coach store stocked mostly these Borough bags, and anyone who carried Coach carried a Borough bag. The Borough is perhaps Coach’s best work in years; it’s very un-Coach, in that the bag doesn’t have any busy logos, or any busy-ness at all. It has extremely clean, simple lines with just the tiniest pop of gold in the middle via the logo. In Oxblood, it’s the perfect elegant work bag or day bag to accompany any outfit. Get yours here for $598.

GiGi New York Graphic Image Madison & Taylor Totes

What’s better than jeweled tone colors for Fall? Jeweled tones + python (PS. It’s not real python, it’s python-embossed calfskin). Can never resist a great tote either, so this is just the perfect combination. Icing on the cake? You can get your own monogram on there and make the bag uniquely yours. Love it. Get yours here for $305-$360 (depends on whether you want the monogram!).

Banana Republic Lillian Crossbody Bag

Banana Republic Lillian Crossbody Bag

Banana Republic has been trying to compete with J.Crew recently in terms of coming out with cute, covet-worthy bags. Though they mostly haven’t been very successful, I am a bit enamored with this burgundy Lillian crossbody. I love that it has a lot of texture with the pebbled burgundy leather flap on top of the burgundy suede, in addition to the very subtle hardware in the middle. It’s a bag that adds a lot of visual interest to any outfit, and at only $147 (with an extra 40% off your purchase right now), it’s a total steal. Get yours here from Banana Republic.

Triple 7 Take a Sweet Bag

Triple 7 Take a Sweet Bag

Ok, let’s get it out there right now — this is not made out of leather, it’s PU. Yes, I’d usually be the one turning her nose away from any bag that’s not made from leather, but bear with me here. What happens in the Fall/Winter? It rains. And snows. A lot. I always end up super hesitant to bring out one of my gorgeous, amazing leather bags out during this season, so it only makes practical sense to have an adorable, PU bag that not only keeps you stylish but is also not afraid of a little precipitation. The price is so low that it’s really quite worth it. Get it here from ModCloth for $49.99.

Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium in Burgundy

Proenza Schouler Medium PS1 Burgundy

The PS1 has been out such a long time that I’ve really not been able to keep up with the new colors released, and frankly I’ve forgotten how gorgeous this bag is. I love that it’s kind of a preppy looking schoolbag-type bag, very youthful and chic. Perfect as a work bag or a laptop bag. Would really look very put-together and polished paired up with a long black trench. The price is also very reasonable at $1,695. Get yours here from Proenza Schouler.
