Tory Burch Gold Reva Flats

I’m completely in love with my new Tory Burch Reva Flats in Gold. Gold is such a cute neutral color that matches so much yet adds a great pop of bling/color. I had been hesitant on Tory Burch Revas thus far, despite their ubiquitous and fervent popularity, mainly because I found them to be extremely uncomfortable. However, I recently realized if I go up half a size, they suddenly and miraculously become very comfortable. Strange but true. So I’m now a fan and since I love gold so much as that neutral but blingy accent color, I had to pick these up.

I actually wore these to work today and found them very comfortable throughout the day as I ran around the office. I will note, however, that because they’re slightly large for me, they do make an audible unsticking noise at the heel when I walk. Not a biggie. At the end of the day I did find that the shoe was starting to rub against the top of my toes a bit, but I’m still unsure as to why so I won’t blame these gorgeous Revas just yet.

I’m wearing: Anthropologie Field Game Cardigan, J.Crew Dress (similar here), J.Crew Equestrian Leather Belt, Michael Kors White Chronograph Watch

You can’t tell from the pictures but this outfit has a bunch of little gold accents – the Anthropologie Field Game cardigan has engraved gold buttons (gorgeous), my J.Crew Equestrian Belt had a golden brass buckle, and my Michael Kors watch has gold accents…topped off by these super cute gold Revas! I know, I was kind of proud of that since it was all unintentional coordination. Shows my sometimes excessive attraction to gold, doesn’t it…

Banana Republic Denim Pencil Skirt

I would not call the Denim Pencil Skirt from Banana Republic a true “pencil skirt.”

Banana Republic Denim Pencil Skirt

If you think – like I did – that you are getting a demure, basic denim pencil skirt, you will be surprised. I would really call this skirt a “mini.” In fact, a very tight, pretty short mini. I got a 28, which according to the Banana Republic site, is a size 6. My usual skirt size. When I took it out of the box for the first time, I thought, holy crap no way I can fit into this tiny thing. By golly I have no idea how in the world I actually fit into it, but it’s definitely much tighter than my usual 6.

I’m wearing: Anthropologie Coil Flower Tank (on sale!!), Matt Bernson Bo Peep Espadrilles

The denim material is also very thin. Most surprising was how short the skirt is. I expected a pencil skirt, so I thought it would at least come to maybe an inch above my knee, but I really had to drag it down to make it as long as it looks in these pictures…which still is not long enough for me to feel comfortable wearing to work. Too tight and too short for the office for sure. However, I can see that if I had sized up a size, it may just work, perhaps with tights and boots in the fall/winter.

J.Crew Tissue Cascading Twists Tee

The Tissue Cascading Twists Tee from J.Crew is a cute simple tee.

I’m wearing: Gap New Pencil Skirt, Matt Bernson Bo Peep Espadrilles

The tissue material is very thin and clings onto your body, even though the actual fit isn’t that small. The twists aren’t really ruffle-y, they are just like pasted on scrap paper strips. But it’s still cute overall and the color is cute. I got it in my usual size in J.Crew knits.
