Tory Burch Gold Tortoiseshell Reva Flats

This is apparently shoe week! I’ve been obsessed with J.Crew so much that I’ve been kind of neglecting my shoe “collection.” I got to a point last week when I got really sick of wearing the same pair of flat comfy sandals when I had spent so much time/money on cute outfits, but those were my go-to comfy sandals and I was not about to sacrifice comfort for beauty. So I’ve been on a hunt for cute, comfy shoes. Recently I picked up the Tory Burch Kitty Resin Wedges in gold with the Tortoiseshell medallion, but they were half a size too small. I was tempted to get the flat Reva version, and I completely caved on Sunday. So, here they are – Tory Burch Gold Tortoiseshell Reva flats.

Tory Burch Gold Tortoiseshell Reva Flats

Um, question. Why is the medallion on this shoe smaller than all the other metal medallions on the other Revas? I think it looks so weird, like I’m wearing fake Revas…is that just me?!

Tory Burch Gold Tortoiseshell Reva Flats

Not nearly as cute as the Kitty wedges – there’s way too much gold empty space and not enough hardware. Just looks so weird to me. Like I am carrying small round packs of dirt on my toes. Anyway, I never found Revas to be comfortable whatsoever, but I sized up half a size in these, and they’re actually very comfortable. I think they’re slightly too big though because there’s a pretty sizeable gap in the back of my heel, though the elastic keeps my heel from sliding out. My next goal is to get these exact same Revas, gold leather, but with the normal gold medallion. Can’t wait!

In the meantime, if you love these (and I really wouldn’t blame you), get them from Saks for $250 here.

Matt Bernson Isis Gladiator Sandal

The Matt Bernson Isis Gladiator Sandal has the most cushioning I’ve ever experienced in a sandal, maybe even in shoes, period.

See the thick brown insole? That’s all cushion. Incredible comfort. You literally feel like you are walking on a puffy cloud. They give you the trendiness of the gladiator style, but without any of the discomfort of straps digging into your skin. They’re soft brown suede on one side, pebbly soft gold leather on the inside. The only thing I don’t like about them – and this could just be me – but the straps are very short, so they feel kind of tight around my ankles. Not too tight, but tight enough to notice. I have to use the last hole. But luckily, you don’t have to worry about unbuckling each of these straps every time you wear them or take them off.

The back zips down and you can easily slide your foot in. Voila! I love them but I don’t love them for $178. For that price, I want a pair of eye-catching, stunning sandals that I will want to wear all the time. While these are cute and uber comfy, I’m not sure that these are it. What do you think?

I wish there was more hardware on these. The small buckles on the side are just so adorable! Here’s a full on shot of them from a distance and from the side.

These specific ones are not for me, but I’ve now discovered the amazing comfort of Matt Bernson and I am hooked. All his shoes and sandals seem to have this thick, cushiony sole, so I shall be eyeing some more and perhaps trying on a few more pairs!

Tory Burch Resin Kitty Wedge

One day last year, I saw a girl walking on 5th Ave with shoes on that were the total inverse of the ubiquitous Tory Burch Revas I had seen everywhere. The shoe was gold but the medallion was black. I literally did a double take. It looked awesome. Soon after, I saw those flats online but never pulled the trigger because Revas have never been comfortable for me (I’m the only one, I know). Then I saw these tiny Tory Burch Kitty wedges in gold and a resin medallion (whatever that is) that basically is the same look but potentially without the same discomfort I get from the Reva’s elastic back.

Super cute, right? I was only able to find my size and this color at Jildor Shoes, so if they don’t work, it’s pretty much over. I didn’t think that would be a problem because the insole felt so cushioned and flexible that they were bound to be extremely comfortable. And…did I mention, how cute are they?? Gold is my new favorite neutral for sure.

I’m wearing: J.Crew Vintage V-Neck Cotton Tee, J.Crew Impressionist Pencil Skirt

Unfortunately, even though I got my normal US size, they fit just a little too tight length-wise. I felt the back dig into me every time I took a step. Half a size larger would’ve been perfect I think. Sadly, I cannot find these anywhere half a size larger, so I’m woefully returning these. I’m seriously considering trying the gold Reva version of these because that’s how cute and versatile I think these are. Should I? Hmmm….

Here’s a last parting shot of these way-too-adorable wedges…
