Best. Skirt. Ever.
I was totally on the fence about J.Crew’s Impressionist Pencil Skirt. The print looked potentially too bold and therefore slightly tacky, or maybe it was just the pairing with the washed denim and weird manly lumber boots that made me feel that way. I had hoped each skirt would have a different print, and that I wouldn’t get as much green/leafiness on the one I got.
When I got this beauty today, I was in love. It is STUNNING in person. I absolutely love the colors/print on mine. The colors are vibrant – it’s a guaranteed head turner – but very feminine and extremely pretty. The new 21″ length is absolutely perfect for someone with my figure and height (5’6″). It hits at the sweet spot otherwise known as right above my knee. I also don’t have to wear it right under the rib cage in order for the hem to fall at my knee; instead, I can wear it at my normal waist, which makes the skirt 100% times more comfy. Check out the length comparison with the 24″ Sunshine Peony Skirt. This fits me so well and is so flattering on me that I want to get every single 21″ length pencil skirt from J.Crew. Me, pencil skirts! That’s how amazing these are.
The fabric is soft and feels like it molds to your body, so it moves with you as well. Almost like there may be a hint of spandex in there. I don’t even know what else to say, except that for everyone on the fence about this skirt just from these pictures online, don’t hesitate and snag this beauty now! I have no idea why J.Crew would pair this amazing skirt with such ugly tops, but I think it kind of ruins the look and is perhaps the reason why I haven’t seen that much buzz about this skirt in the blogosphere.

Ugh, can it be any more perfect? I probably would normally wear a white plain tee with this skirt, just to defer all attention to this screamingly beautiful print. I think it even looks amazing with a shirt that’s not tucked in; it just looks like a floral mini skirt. That kind of versatility makes it like two gorgeous skirts for the price of one. How much more can you ask for from a skirt?

Shall I swoon more? I want to wear this skirt everywhere. I want to wear it now instead of my PJs. I want to wear it with heels and flip flops, to baseball games and to fancy schmancy dinners. Just looking at this beautiful print makes me happy. If anyone’s hesitating about purchasing this skirt right now, I really would not. I think any girl who sees this skirt in person will fall in love and it will sell out quickly. Snag it now from J.Crew here for $110 (worth every penny!).
