Ann Taylor Loft Striped V-Neck Cardigan

I wish Loft gave their items more interesting names like J.Crew so we don’t end up calling clothes by the same names season after season. Anyway, happy Saturday everyone! I just finished some delicious sushi and with the ever delicious lychee smoothie by my side, I’m ready to post about the Striped V-Neck Cardigan from Ann Taylor Loft.

Ann Taylor Loft Striped V-Neck Cardigan

White with blue/black stripes or navy with white stripes. Something about these two color combinations in either sweaters or tops makes me think of posh country club / casual chic / polo matches. To me, these are the ultimate color combos to match up with cognac-colored accessories like belts and riding boots. Great neutral colors and look inherently high end. To me, at least.

I’m wearing: Loft Multi-Tier Shell, J.Crew Equestrian Belt (similar here), Loft Chunky Tweed Mini Skirt, Tory Burch Julianne Wedges

I’m wearing a Small in these photos. I usually go up to Medium for cardigans just for that extra roomy look, so I forget why I went to Small for these. They are pretty fitted but not too much so, with the exception of the arms. I know, again, I’m feelin’ like these designers are trying to tell me my arms are disproportionately big. Boo. They’re tight on my arms. Not unwearably so I guess, but not too happy about it. With the Buy 1 Get One 50% off (sweaters only) promo back on, I’m thinking of exchanging this for a size bigger and then buying the navy colored version as well. Highly recommend this cardigan – I don’t think I’ve seen a single person look terrible in it.

P.S. Shoutout to reader Tina for the idea of adding a belt to the Loft Multi-Tier Shell. I know this isn’t a skinny belt, but I couldn’t resist adding in a pop of cognac to this outfit.

Current J.Crew Coat Obsessions

I’ve been so bored with J.Crew lately, but with their recent new releases, new catalog, and grand opening of their online Factory store, they definitely got my attention again. Well, with Fall/Winter upon us, I’m starting to feel increasingly chilly when I walk out of work every afternoon. Having been caught in a few freezing freak thunderstorms lately, I’ve been super drawn to J.Crew outerwear lately. In fact, let me be frank. I’m obsessed. At about $300 a pop, I’m really going to have to make some tough decisions…

J.Crew Double-Cloth Bon Bon Coat

J.Crew Double-Cloth Bon Bon Coat

I have to be honest, I did not give this coat a second look when I first saw it. That’s probably because J.Crew has it in black in the stock photo and who needs another black coat? But when I opened the new J.Crew catalog and saw this pristine, stunning, angelic, elegant, pure white coat, I completely fell in love. Irrational? Yes. Totally impractical? Absolutely. But oh how much I would love to be wrapped up in this beauty. It would be such an elegant statement coat, so effortlessly stunning. Ahhh, what a beauty. So hard to resist.

J.Crew Stadium-Cloth Peacoat with Gold Buttons

You had me at “gold buttons.” I don’t know why so few designers utilize gold/brass buttons on outwear these days, but it really elevates any jacket/coat for me. Gives it that slight military edge. This coat not only has the crested engraved gold buttons but also looks amazingly fitted. Absolutely adorable. How cute would this be with houndstooth/tweed minis and boots? Yowza. Not going to lie, I squealed when I saw this coat. Who squeals these days? Apparently I do. For the right coat. Navy or gray? Navy or gray?? Ahhhh. It would extremely difficult to resist this one.

J.Crew Stadium-Cloth Sasha Peacoat

Baked Squash is my pick of poison here. All I have (and probably most women out there) are boring black coats, mainly because they’re safe and match with everything. Yea “Baked Squash” would be harder to match, but that is why it would be a standout amongst the sea of black coats you’re sure to see this upcoming Fall/Winter. Pair this with a neutral mini like the Loft Chunky Tweed Mini, some cognac-colored leather boots, and you got a refreshingly adorable outfit. And if it’s not obvious already, I love the peacoat + chunky mini + boots combo for this season. Best part of the season, I say.

J.Crew Coralie Cami

You’re probably sick of hearing about how much I love silk ruffle camis right? So I won’t go on and on about this one either. Coralie Cami from J.Crew. Saw a lot of great reviews in the blogosphere, which usually do not fail me. This one’s a winner as well.

J.Crew Coralie Cami

It’s very comfortable and true to size. A bit more gauzy than the slick, shiny silk ruffle camis I’ve been getting (i.e. Frances, Victoria, etc.). The light colors are slightly see-through. That’s probably the only flaw I can see in this beauty. If J.Crew had more colors in my size, I’d be all over every color I can get my hands on.

I’m loving the pale colors lately. Very soft and feminine. Love this look for Fall/Winter – throw on a fluffy scarf and you will look (and feel) cozy as can be. Mmmm.
