J.Crew Ruffled Jersey Dress

How cute is the Ruffled Jersey Dress from J.Crew? When I ordered it last week, it was already on backorder, which makes me think this dress is quite popular. Or they were just short in stock.

It’s super soft, comfy knit and the vertical ruffles are flattering and feminine. The length is somewhat short, but considering I will mainly wear this with tights and boots this fall, I’m not complaining. I’m a huge fan of the Heather Carbon color this season, which I plan to wear a lot with cognac-ish belts and boots.

Even though it was way too hot to throw on anything over this dress, here’s a fall-ish look for this dress – belted with a long cardigan! That will probably be a staple combo for me this fall/winter. Love gray with burgundy!

I took a Small in this dress and I would say it’s definitely true to size, if not slightly larger.

J.Crew Denim Pencil Skirt

Thanks to a rave review from reader Maressa, I have finally decided to order and check out the very popular Denim Pencil Skirt from J.Crew.

J.Crew Denim Pencil Skirt

Maressa commented that this is the denim version of the Double Serge Pencil Skirt so it should be uber flattering. Plus, with all the printed pencil skirts I’ve collected this summer from J.Crew, it will be nice to do the summer/fall transition with a great neutral skirt like denim. Love the fact that denim is inherently casual but it’s dressed up in the inherently dressy pencil skirt style. How could I possibly resist?

I thought this skirt would be too long and I would have to pull it up the wazoo, but it is quite a perfect length. Didn’t have to resort to Petite sizing at all. I got my usual J.Crew size and it fits very comfortably. Can’t wait to wear this with boots and cozy cardigans for fall!

Get it here from J.Crew for $69.50.

J.Crew Glen Plaid Ruffle Skirt

The Glen Plaid Ruffle Skirt from J.Crew is clearly a Fall skirt, just dying to be shown off with fitted blazer and knee high boots.

J.Crew Glen Plaid Ruffle Skirt

When I first saw it online, I was afraid it would be too short on me, since it looks wayyyy short on this model. But then I saw it in stores and thought, I’ll size up and make this work! I think that worked and this skirt is no longer too short to be work appropriate, hitting me just a couple inches above my knee.

I’m wearing: J.Crew Bettina Cami, J.Crew Glass Pools Bracelet, Nine West Getby Wedges

The plaid is very cute and very school girlish, which I love, because it doubles the flirt factor of this skirt, but when I put it on, I realized it looked very familiar. Too familiar.

I’m wearing: J.Crew Vintage Cotton V-Neck Tee, J.Crew Whisper Chambray Tiered Skirt, J.Crew Equestrian Leather Belt, Christian Louboutin Very Prives

That’s right – the Whisper Chambray Tiered Skirt from not too long ago. Too similar to keep, this skirt is going back.
